ELIAS PROYECT - English Version

ELIAS PROJECT
"Disciples Making Disciples of all Ethnicities"

Train /  Supervise / Delegate

The School for Amazon Indigenous Leaders (ELIAS) is a project born in the heart of God and responds to the need to provide contextualized biblical training, taking into account the situation of the students and give them the tools needed to develop discipleship programs in their home communities and to teach the Word of God in a clear, simple and healthy way.

The ELIAS Project will teach a curriculum designed for use in an indigenous context. The curriculum emphasizes the usefulness of the training in the development of the church. It also visualizes the natives as suitable workers to do the work of evangelism in their own communities and to mobilize their church to the spread of the Gospel. Once one empowers leaders, one can reach more people and more communities in less time.

The three major areas of work in ELIAS are: To Train, To Supervise and To Delegate. These will be developed as follows:

1.                          The establishment of the Bible Training School aimed at pastors and leaders of indigenous communities. ELIAS "Amazonas School Leaders."

2.                          The follow up of the leaders who are preparing in the Bible Training Center, wiht constants visits to them in their communities.

3.                          The production of evangelism and discipleship material to be distributed and used in communities.

         4.    The conduction of training workshops to churches where the students serve.

          5.      The promotion of  language development programs in indigenous communities.

The training area will be developed in workshops to be held in San Fernando de Atabapo, Amazon. The conferences will be conducted regularly, on a schedule to be established after taking into account the availability of candidates. The supervision will consist of a monitoring periodic visits to the communities to observe the work the pastors who are trained in ELIAS do and provide them timely advice.

In addition to these two areas of work, is expected to be a mobilization channel for the use of the mother tongue through the production of printed and audiovisual material in local languages as well as giving basic tools so that they can later develop similar projects.
